What is a Pinnacle Pillar?
Pinnacle Pillars are Aluminum Nitride (AlN) ceramic inserts that utilize an extremely high rate of thermal conduction to provide the best clouds at the lowest temperatures.
When we talk about what we’re looking for in a banger, heat retention is the phrase you’ll hear most often. Why do we want heat retention? The answer is that we don’t, we want conduction.
Thermal conduction, or the rate at which a material can transfer it's heat into another material touching it, is what drives vapor production. Quartz has very poor thermal conduction, so we need that window of optimal temperature range to be as long as possible to allow that slow thermal conduction to occur. Pinnacle pillars flip the script completely by utilizing thermal conductivity to their advantage. Quartz conducts heat at 5w/(m-K), while AlN lands at around 250w/(m-K). By very rapidly releasing the heat in itself into the material being vaporized, Pinnacle Pillars can achieve a dabbing experience like nothing else. How do I use and take care of it?

- Pinnacle Pillars are a low temp insert. We do not recommend dropping above 500° unless it is a large dab. 420° - 480° is the optimal use range, depending on personal preference and size of dab.
- When dropping your dab, slide the entire thing off into the dish before starting your pull. The more melted material you can pull into the pillar at once, the better the effect will be.
- Do smaller dabs! While you can still glob with Pinnacle Pillars, one of the best features of them is their ability to get the most out of a small dab. Since the thermal conduction vaporizes the material so efficiently, you will get more vapor relative to the size of the dab.
- EXPERIMENT! Play around with different sizes in different bangers, temps, dab size, and anything else you can think of! Everyone is going to have a set up that they like the most, it's up to you to find yours!
- Do not torch the insert directly
- When using a heating device (RECOMMENDED), heat your banger with your insert in it
- When torching, heat banger to above 800°, then drop your insert in. By the time your banger comes to temp, the insert will have absorbed enough heat to function properly.
- Dunk in Isopropyl Alcohol (at least 91%) around 200°
- Wipe Dry
- For stubborn stains, you can either soak in Iso, or set your heating device to 600° or hotter, and let the insert soak in a hot banger. After 15 minutes it will be spotless.
What Size Should I Get?
While the chart provided is a solid starting point, everyone is going to have different preferences! What may be your homies favorite in a tower might not be yours. Most of our inserts will work in most bangers, and the "best" size for your banger is pretty subjective.
Is it Safe?
While information exists regarding potential risks of aluminum nitride, nearly all of it relates to the inhalation of fine dust generated during manufacturing or machining. Pinnacle Pillars are manufactured from fully sintered, high-purity aluminum nitride, creating an extremely dense and hard engineering ceramic. During normal dabbing use, there is no mechanism by which the material is expected to generate respirable AlN dust. Aluminum nitride is thermally stable at temperatures far beyond those encountered during normal use. While no material used in the dabbing industry has decades of application-specific data, we have consulted with multiple PhD-level materials scientists, who all agreed that high-purity, fully sintered AlN used as intended is not expected to present a unique safety concern. We also independently verify our material through third-party laboratory testing. To our knowledge, Pinnacle Pillars is the only company in our industry providing this level of transparency, and our testing has demonstrated the highest-purity aluminum nitride material we have evaluated.
